Building the church of the future

Our Monday evening group may be small, but it is a lot of fun! Yesterday we were looking at the work of the Holy Spirit. Although we can’t see the Holy Spirit, we can see what He does. Rather like the magnets in this construction kit, for example.

So the challenge I set the group was to use the kit to build a church and this is what they came up with after three quarters of an hour:

It may be small, but it’s perfectly formed, with vestry and children’s room – a magnetic church which hopefully will attract many. Next week we may even have a vicar to go with it! This all led very naturally into the theme of the week, which was Jesus’ teaching on being salt and light in the world (Matt 5:13-16)

We are really hoping and growing that the group will grow. So…

June 19th, 7.30pm at St Michael’s we are having a party. It will feature cake, and praise, and maybe a film. All the young and young at heart are warmly invited. It promises to be a very special occasion.
