Day 38: 1 Peter 4:10 (Maundy Thursday)

Day 38Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms (1 Peter 4:10).

We have reached today Maundy Thursday: a day where Jesus washes His disciples’ feet; where He offers Himself in bread and wine; where He goes out to the Garden of Gethsemane and submits to His Father’s will; where He allows Himself to be betrayed by Judas Iscariot, arrested and put on trial. So why is it that we make so many different excuses as to why we cannot serve others?

Today take part in a service of Holy Communion (or read the words of the service if you are unable to do so). Reflect on the line of the Easter hymn which says: “Love so amazing, so divine, demands my life, my soul, my all.”

If you want to reflect further, read Philippians 2:1-11.
