Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven. Therefore confess your sins to each other… (James 5:14-16a).
Holy Week is almost upon us. As we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ death and resurrection, we must be honest and ask, “What sins are preventing me from receiving God’s blessing in my life?” If we want healing of the heart and mind and even the body, then we need to acknowledge our failure to love God and one another, however hard and painful we may find it.
Today prayerfully consider what you can do to put a relationship right.
If you want to reflect further, read slowly and carefully David’s great psalm of confession, Psalm 51.
