The biggest enemy the church faces is not heresy. Nor is it often a major clash of personalities or even a lack of resources. No, the biggest enemy it faces is drift. People who were once keen gradually coming less often, people who used to come less often, turning up only once in a blue moon. Drift is an unseen disease that threatens the very health of any church.
Today contact someone you haven’t seen at church for some time and arrange to catch up with them.
If you want to reflect further, consider the way Paul was left on his own in 2 Timothy 4:9-11.
