Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom (Colossians 3:16).
In many parts of the world the word of God is precious and a scarce resource. When people get hold of Bibles, they read them avidly and share what they discover. Yet in the West where it is so easy to read the Bible, rarely do we let the word dwell in us richly. Our failure to value the Scriptures affects not only our own walk with the Lord, but the whole church.
Today make plans to read the Bible regularly after Easter. Order some Bible reading notes, or download some resources. If you don’t know what to look for, ask a friend for advice.
If you want to reflect further, see how the Israelites reacted once they were able to understand the word in Nehemiah 8:7-12 (ignore the long list of names!)
