40 Days of Reflection Day 23:Philippians 2:3

Day 23Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves (Philippians 2:3).

It can be so easy to see the faults and failings in other people and to consider yourself better than them. But when we have this proud kind of attitude, then it makes it extremely hard to love other people as ourselves. We may pity them, or make allowances for them, but we will not genuinely love them for who they are. Paul tells us there is no room for this kind of pride if we are to follow Christ.

Today tell someone something good that you see in them.

If you want to reflect further, consider Jesus’ teaching in Matthew 7:1-6.
