Paul is here discussing an issue which deeply divided the early church – whether it was right to eat meat or not. We unfortunately all too often have this habit of condemning our fellow believers over issues which are as nothing compared to the good news of Jesus Christ. We have to accept we will not always agree with one another, and we must not allow divisions to arise which undermine the good news we seek to share.
If possible, talk to someone who goes to a different kind of church from your own, and find out what you have in common.
If you want to reflect further, see how Paul challenged Peter over this issue in Galatians 2:11-16.
