40 Reflections for Lent – Day 4: Saturday and Sunday 21st to 22nd

Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other (Mark 9:50).

Salt has a distinctive taste. We may only notice it when it’s not there, but it adds a certain flavour and it seasons the whole food. Jesus here tells us that as His followers we are to be like salt. We should make a distinct difference to the lives of those around us because, as far as it lies with us, we are following the example of Jesus, the one whose name is the Prince of Peace.

What can I do to bring peace into someone’s life today?

If you want to read further, consider Jesus’ words in Luke 10:5-6
