Details of the Big IF London, a huge public rally taking place in London’s Hyde Park on Saturday 8 June, have been announced. Protesters from Devon will be joining the thousands of campaigners for the biggest campaigning moment since Make Poverty History.
11.30am-12.30pm: the day starts with a service at Westminster Central Hall
1-2pm Walk of Witness
2-5pm: main event at Hyde Park
The free event in the park will feature inspiring speeches from philanthropist Bill Gates, former Archbishop of Canterbury and Chair of Christian Aid Rowan Williams, and broadcaster Natasha Kaplinsky. Specially recorded messages from David Beckham and Eddie Izzard will also be broadcast to the crowd.
The event will be hosted by Gethin Jones and Myleene Klass and will feature exclusive appearances from a number of campaign supporters, including Grammy Award-winning singer Angelique Kidjo. They will join thousands of people in Hyde Park to demand that David Cameron and G8 leaders tackle the causes of global hunger. Additional names will be announced in the run-up to the event.
