When the day of Pentecost came,
(the disciples) were all together in one place.
Acts 2:1 (NIV)
This coming Sunday is Pentecost when we remember the day the Holy Spirit came to the disciples (about 120 people). Read the rest of the story here. In his blog, Rev Tim writes …
It doesn’t seem unreasonable to suggest if there’s particularly one Sunday when we should all gather together this is it.
So let me challenge you – cancel whatever else you are doing on May 19th and come along to St Michael’s or St Barnabas … whatever it takes – let’s see how many of us can gather in one place on the day of Pentecost. And spread the word. Wouldn’t it be fabulous to have 120 there – just as on the first day of Pentecost?
I can’t guarantee what the Lord will do, but let’s have an eager expectation for His Holy Spirit that day, and at least be in the right place to receive His blessing.
So, will you be there? And who can you invite, or remind, to come too?
