Cuppa Club does Christmas Child!

Since 1990, Operation Christmas Child (OCC) have been sending gift-filled shoeboxes to children in 18 different countries across Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Last year, the campaign resulted in 1.12 million shoeboxes from the UK and Ireland.

This year, the Cuppa Club that meets at St Barnabas every Tuesday afternoon got together with the aim of filling ten shoe boxes to send to OCC. In only two weeks, between us we have filled 18!

Our boxes will be part of a consignment sent from Stuart Road Primary School, eventually ending up with churches and ministry partners in the receiving country for distribution. Although OCC is a Christian organisation, the boxes are given freely and without conditions as an act of love at Christmas. If it’s appropriate according to the country and local situation, the children are offered a copy of ‘The Greatest Gift of All’ booklet in their local language by local churches and ministry partners. You can see more about where some of the boxes go here.

It’s not too late to get involved!
